How To Properly Secure Your Baby’s Chest Clip
Dozens of babies die each year from being improperly secured in their car seat during car accidents, and most common mistake parents make with the car seat is positioning the chest clip too low on the child. Positioning the chest clip too low could mean your child is not properly secure and could sustain serious injury in a crash. If the chest clip is too high, on the other hand, the child could suffer neck injuries in the event of a crash.
Chest clips should be positioned around the mid to upper chest area. Armpit level is best, and this is were most carseat instruction manuals will tell you to place the car seat’s chest clip. The goal is to make sure the straps are snug and strapped correctly over the baby’s shoulders.
